February 2013 Newsletter
The children (orphans) are growing and so are the following: the corn, wheat, oats, peas, cabbage, swiss chard and squash. We have had many downpours, rain at least every other day for the last three months. The weeds grow faster than any of the crops. I am very tired of pulling weeds.
Tomorrow (March 17th) we celebrate the two year anniversary of Sunrise Children’s Home of Uhekule Village. Corrinne and Courtney are working in the kitchen, and I prefer the outside work. We expect around 100 people for the party. The villagers love a party; free food and soda.
Next month I will be returning to the U.S. for a visit. So, Corrinne and Courtney will be in charge of all. They do a good job, but, unfortunately for us and the children, Corrinne will be returning to the U.S. in June permanently. She will have been with us for 1 1/2 years. She will be sorely missed. We are grateful that Courtney will stay until the end of the year.
Just recently a cousin of mine in Pennsylvania sent a package with socks and 6 pair of shoes. How wonderful to receive shoes. Our kids wear them out quickly.
We appreciate your support. Thank you.
