November 2015 Newsletter
Two very important events this month, one was the birth of our second calf, a female. So now we have three cows. Mimosa is just a year, the calf, Heidi, born Nov. 14th and Lucky, our mama cow, who is about 4 ½ years old. Not sure if we want any more as the problem is feeding them in the 6 month dry season.
The biggest event of this month was receiving Rhonda and Richard Hanssen, missionaries from the U.S. but their ministry has been in Italy for the last nine years. They arrived the 25th of this month and will be leaving Dec. 4th. Already they have decided to make their home in Uhekule at Sunrise Children’s Home. HALLELUJAH!!! But they have lots of business to clear up, so the earliest they can return is in March of next year.
The children already adore them, and so do I. They bring love, the Gospel and creativity to the orphanage. We are all thrilled.
Hope Thanksgiving was a special time for all of you to give thanks. We thank the Lord daily here, but no special holiday for it. I do miss family, especially at Thanksgiving. Christmas is such a holy and meaningful time here, I do enjoy being with the villagers and many young people. Again, it is a very different culture.
The workshop is progressing as you can see from the pictures. The roofing will arrive soon and the workers will return.
Blessings to all of you that have made higher education and the building of the workshop possible for so many young people to receive the rewards.
