The rains have lessened and winter is on its way. Come June the cold evenings will begin and very cool mornings. The children will dress in layers to keep warm since they are not allowed to wear jackets to school.
I am in the U.S. visiting family and friends also fund-raising for the orphanage. Rhonda and Rickard Hanssen, missionaries from Biloxi, Ms., are taking care of the children at Sunrise. This allows me more time in the U.S..
The corn crop looks good, I am told, but the potatoes this year were not good and the whole village is suffering because of it. The villagers depend on the potato crop for their livelihood, so cash will be scarce until harvest time for the corn.
The workshop is near completion so now we must find machinery. We need items like table saws, jig saws and hand tools. If you have any ideas, please let us know.
